My name is Xabriel J. Collazo-Mojica, I'm currently a senior computer engineering student at University of Puerto Rico - Mayagüez Campus, a.k.a. Colegio.

I've had the opportunity of doing undergraduate research in the following areas: e-government and autonomic computing. I'm interested in grad school. My research interests as of now lay in Software Engineering and Engineering Education. I will graduate in May 2009 so I expect to apply for admissions on Fall 2008. The current shortlist for me (not necessarily in this order):

  • CMU - ranked #1 (tie with MIT); I especially like their PhD in Soft. Engineering program.
  • FIU - Excellent Faculty, excellent funding. Minorities everywhere!
  • UIUC - ranked #5; Great place, great faculty, excellent opportunities for funding.
  • UMass - ranked #17; Great opportunities for minorities, plus faculty with experience on technology in education!

And the greatest news of all! I got a Teaching Assistant position for the Databases course!! This is a great achievement for me as I'm still an undergrad.
